Preliminary Task - Planning
Unfortunately I was not present during this lesson due to illness however I did find out from my other group members: Freddie; Jake and Chris what it was that happened in that lesson. They informed me that we would be creating the opening of a thriller movie and that they had come up with an idea.
The main idea of 'The Package', which they had named our thriller, is that a meeting would be held against a male character and his boss where his boss asks for a package from the man. The man fails to bring the package to the meeting and therefore this results in the boss getting mad and shooting the man. They worked out each camera angle/position for each shot and they also decided that the first two shots in the corridor would be taken as if it were a 'security camera', personally I thought this was a great idea and I liked the concept in which they had come up with altogether. They also wrote a script for our thriller opening within this lesson. Here is a picture of it ...
They had decided that me being a drama student as well as media that I would play the part of the boss and I was very willing to do so. They had also decided on costumes and the mise en scene of the film, they decided that we would film in a classroom and have a desk and a 'nerf' gun as the gun used to kill the man. They also said that as the boss that I should wear a suit jacket however due to my absence the costume did not work out as planned. But overall my other group members did a great job with the planning and I was very happy with the outcome.
